Why I'm obsessed

Poverty

For most of my childhood, it was just my mum raising me and my two siblings. Money was tight. I still remember her coming home from her daytime job only to head straight to her nighttime one. She was grinding to support us, I feel like I've adopted that mindset.

When I first started learning how to code years ago, I was obsessed with it. I remember getting a part-time job just so I could afford a bunch of Udemy programming courses, and I followed every tech YouTuber out there. That was literally my world. I hardly had any friends at the time, but I didn't mind because of my obsession and goals. A typical day was just me sitting at my computer coding all-day until like 2am.

Because of this, I came into university with work experience and a strong programming background that helped me excel in my programming modules. Even today I'm still constantly learning new things and improving as a programmer.

Goals

My main goal is to excel as a programmer and have a successful career. The only way that's achievable is if I'm obsessed. To succeed at anything in life, that's the only way. You cannot succeed with "balance" because you're not the only one, other people want what you want too. Look at the job market for software engineering. Tough, right? You see the point I'm making? You really need to go above and beyond. That's why I'm so tech and career obsessed. Tech and programming are my passion, and I'm chasing a successful career because I want to build a better life than the one I had. That's not to say I had a bad childhood, I just want to do better to make my family proud.

Conclusion

A bit of a touchy post but aye, this is my corner of the internet. I hope you were able to take something from it. Just keep going, no matter what anyone says.
